Is primal raw food good for puppies?
Puppies. Puppies can be introduced to Primal Canine Balanced Bases at approximately 4-5 weeks of age. They should be fed 1-2 small (1-2 teaspoons) raw food meals daily in conjunction with either the milk they consume from nursing and/or other foods you may be supplementing.

Do vets recommend raw diet?

Is Primal grain free?
No. Grains are not needed to make a safe, complete and balanced diet. All Primal balanced formulas use raw, meat-based proteins and do not include plant proteins such as peas, lentils, legumes, seeds, or potatoes.
Why do vets hate raw food for dogs?
Even with the greatest care, the risk of cross-contamination is much higher so you could accidentally spread around bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella and even Tuberculosis (TB) via the food or via your pet.
