What choke to use with a rifled slug?
What choke to use with a rifled slug?
Improved Cylinder choke
The conventional wisdom has long been that these slugs perform best with an Improved Cylinder choke. Though ammunition is highly variable, and all guns digest ammunition a little differently than one another, I’d be inclined to start with an IC choke. If your accuracy with this choke is acceptable, stick with it.

Yes, you can fire a slug through a full choke, and it’s relatively safe (ALWAYS read the ammunition advice). Rifled slugs can be designed to deform through the narrower choke, but will lose both power and accuracy relative to a cylinder or improved cylinder choke. Can you shoot slugs through a choke tube?

What do slugs do you shoot out of rifled Barrell?
Because the barrel is rifled, the projectile does not need to be rifled. A rifled slug is what you want to shoot out a smooth bore barrel. Because the barrel is smooth, the projectile will not rotate appropriately unless it has rifling on it.
Can you shoot a sabot slug through a rifled barrel?
His testing showed that shooting rifled slugs through a rifled barrel showed about the same accuracy as shooting sabot slugs through the rifled barrel. If fact the only combination that showed poor accuracy was shooting sabot slugs through a smooth barrel. Those groups opened up significantly and also many were key holed.
