What are airpoint dollars?

Airpoints is Air New Zealand’s loyalty programme. Anyone can join and membership is free. As an Airpoints member you can earn Airpoints Dollars™ in so many ways, which you can then spend on flights, rental cars and other things that make life and travel more enjoyable.

How do I pay with Airpoints dollars?

To make an Airpoints Flexipay purchase from the Airpoints Store, sign in to your Airpoints account and head to ‘Checkout’ once you’ve selected your item(s). Use the Flexipay calculator on the page to choose the amount you would like to pay in Airpoints Dollars and the amount you’d like to pay by credit card.

Can you convert Airpoints to Flybuys?

No. Flybuys and Airpoints are two separate loyalty programmes and there are no links between them.

Do NZ Airpoints expire?

Airpoints Dollars have a four-year expiry, so you can save up to use them on the rewards you like. Take your pick from thousands of travel, wine, homeware or electronics products from the Airpoints Store.

Can you convert Airpoints to cash?

Can I transfer my Airpoints Dollars to someone else? No – but you can use Sharepoints to pool your Airpoints Dollars together to redeem a reward or flight.

Can I purchase Airpoints?

Can I purchase Airpoints Dollars™? Yes, it’s possible to top up your Airpoints™ balance, by purchasing Airpoints Dollars. Our range of Air New Zealand credit cards, issued by Kiwibank, reward you with Airpoints Dollars for your everyday spending* and also give you the ability to top up your Airpoints Dollars balance.

Can I give my Airpoints to someone else?

Each year* you can share your Airpoints Dollars with up to four members of your Shairpoints account, to spend on flights or rewards as you like. The Enabler can assign roles to members of the group.
