Does NYU Precollege give credit?

Precollege students can earn up to 8 credits (two classes) during the six-week summer term. In addition to credit-bearing courses, students can enroll in the non-credit College Writing Workshop (see more information below). Most Precollege courses are offered every summer, however course schedules and faculty may vary.

How long is summer school in NY high school?

There are four two-hour class periods each day, and all classes meet Monday through Thursday for the entire six weeks of the summer session. First period begins at 8:30 a.m., and the last period of the day ends at 5:45 p.m. Upon completion of 24 days of a two-hour course, students may earn a semester credit.

Does NYU admit by major?

On the Common Application, you’ll select one, two, or all of the three degree-granting campuses. Youʼll get to rank them in order of interest. For NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU Shanghai, you don”t apply directly to a major, but you’re welcome to mention one in your “Why NYU?” essay.

Students register for courses through NYU’s Student Information System (Albert), and receive NYU credit for all courses taken.
