A joik or yoik (anglicised, where the latter spelling in English conforms with the pronunciation; also named luohti, vuolle, vuelie, or juoiggus in the Sámi languages) is a traditional form of song in Sámi music performed by the Sámi people of Sapmi in Northern Europe.

What to do with children in Laponia?
The Naturum Laponia Visitor Centre offers educational activities for children and storytelling for the youngest ones. In Nutti Sámi Siida, close to the town of Jukkasjärvi, children can feed the reindeer or go sledding in the winter. Laponia has four national parks with trails for both beginners and more advanced hikers.
